I am a follower of Jesus Christ, a member of a Southern Baptist church in Ohio, a husband to one wife of 30+ years, and a father of two.

I’m a self-educated Augustinian realist, similar in perspective to Augustus H. Strong and William G. T. Shedd. As one who believes in the inerrancy of Scripture, I’m an uncompromising defender of a recent creation by divine fiat. I affirm unconditional election, and my Baptist Centrism puts me right down the middle of the Calvinist-Arminian  spectrum. My favorite theological works are mostly by 19th century Presbyterians, with the exception of Andrew Fuller, whose depth of insight has informed my view of free will and inability.

I chose the name, “The Forgotten Realist,” not because I’m forgotten, but because Realism has been forgotten by the Church. I hope you find the perspective as illuminating as I do.
